Obituary

Charles “Turtle” Jacobs was born to the late Joyce Ann Miller (Jacobs) on June 24, 1976 in Boston. Grandson of the late Mettis “Jake” Jacobs and Catherine Jacobs, of Roxbury, and Lilly Bell Jacobs, of Auburn, NY.

He graduated from Waltham High School as a start tight end football player and center of the basketball team. He briefly attended Maine Central Institute to pursue a college athletic career before returning to Roxbury to support his family and siblings through the tragic early loss of their mother. He then attended Roxbury Community College in pursuit of an English Literature degree. A natural leader, protector, motivator and counselor to the huge number of people he touched. He recently enrolled in New England Tractor Trailer School in Providence with the goal of becoming a long haul truck operator. He was employed as head of security at The Harp in Boston’s West End. He was a family man who deeply believed in giving everything he could to his children.

He is survived by his children, Jamoni Nelson, Boston; Charli Ann Jacobs, Boston; Charles Jacobs, Boston; Princess Charleston Jacobs, Boston; Mettis Jacobs; Catherine Elizabeth Jacobs, Rockland. He is also survived by three aunts; Cora Johnson (husband James Johnson), Wanda Jacobs, and Mary Jacobs, an Uncle Mettis Jacobs (wife Diana Jacobs) and numerous cousins and extended family in both upstate NY and Wildwood, Florida. Charlie “Turtle” was a true people person blessed with the gift of exhortation. He took great pride in calling Roxbury his home and will be missed by so many in the community. Always and Forever in our hearts.

A Wake will be held on Friday, January 11, 2019 from 6:00 to 8:00pm at Riley-Antoine Funeral Home 171 Humboldt Ave., Dorchester, MA 02121

I wish to express my condolences in the death of your loved one. The Bible at Acts 24:15 promises a resurrection of our loved ones and death will be no more. Revelation 21:3 & 4. What a wonderful hope we can look forward to. Psalm 36:9 tells us that God is the source of life. I hope that these words from the Bible will bring you comfort at this difficult time. My prayers are with you and your family.
