Denise Christine Taylor, 68 had her transition gracefully and peacefully, Tuesday, September 24, 2019, after a short illness. Denise was born in Cambridge, MA on April 27, 1951 to the late Henry W. Taylor Sr. and Phyllis E. Jones Taylor. She grew up in Roxbury, MA where she attended Boston Public Schools and graduated from Girls High School. She continued her education at Boston State College where she majored in Social Work with focus on foster care and corrections. Through her interest in social work she would become a member of Friends and Family an organization charged with transporting families to Massachusetts State Prisons to visit inmates.

Denise would hold many positions over the years to included working for the Department of Education Office of Civil Rights as a reader for blind employees; an Administrative Assistant for Gravestar Inc, and Systems Exterminating Contractors. She was a jack of all trades who would work and assist in many different capacities in her lifetime. She retired as an Administrative Assistant and would spend time spoiling her grandchildren and traveling to visit family and friends regularly. She was always the life of the party and the “fun” friend, anut, ect. She lived her life on her own terms while giving of herself to those around her.
She would have one daughter, Nhadija, whom she would devote her life and time to. She doted on her and spoiled her beyond imagination which she would later also give the same love and affection to her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry W. Taylor Sr. and Phyllis E. Taylor, her older brother, Henry W. Taylor Jr., older sister, Lorna C. Taylor Powell; niece Shelly Smith, and nephew Ahkil Heyward.
Her full and beautiful life will be cherished through the lives of her daughter Nhadija Taylor of Boston, MA; her grandchildren Nharae and Nashawn Jarrett of Boston, MA, Shaniyah and Elijah Floyd, Claudia Soto, Attiyah Bonillia, and Syra Fields of Boston, MA; two sisters; Donna Taylor Kelley (Walter) and Traci Taylor of Savannah, GA; a brother Walter Williams of Boston, MA; and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great nephews, cousins, Godchildren, adopted children, other relatives and friends from all over.
