Yvonne W. Samuel was the second of six (6) children born February 3, 1946 to Charles Rufus and Una P. Weekes on the beautiful Island of Aruba.

Yvonne was educated at the School System in Oranjestad, Aruba. Yvonne spoke three different languages, English, Papiamento and Dutch. She lived in Grenada for a short portion of her life then she eventually migrated to Montserrat.

Yvonne was employed with the State of Massachusetts. She was committed to her work. No matter how bad the weather was she always showed up to work. Due to her illness, she retired early after 20 years of service as a Mental Health Worker.

In her spare time, she was a successful businesswoman and an entrepreneur. Yvonne was an Independent Sales Representative for AVON and was an esteemed member of the Avon Honor Society as a result of her high volume of sales.

Yvonne loved music and she was free spirited and loved to dance. In her younger years, she participated in numerous dance competitions and would always win. A known characteristic of Yvonne is that she would give you the last of whatever she had and was always helping others. She had an impact on the lives of many. Yvonne was always kind and generous to others, even to people she had just met for the very first time. Another notable characteristic of Yvonne is that when you tell her you love her, she would reply “I love Jesus first and you second” Moreover, she would always greet you with a hug.

She was a faithful member of Bethel Tabernacle Pentecostal Church for over 40 years. The church became her second home. She served as a Nurses Guild under Bishop Thomas Weeks. At the time of her passing, she was a member under Bishop Dr. Gwendolyn Weeks. Yvonne attended church as often as she could. On the days that she could not attend, she will have her Bible opened on the bed and a sermon playing on the television.

For over 30 years, Yvonne struggled with her health. She has had multiple heart attacks and strokes, too many to count. She was known by the doctors at Boston medical as the Miracle Woman. Doctors were amazed at her strength and consistent level of full physical recovery after each episode. Yvonne attributed her strength to her faith in God. She would always say “Never give up no matter what".

Yvonne was married to Peter Samuel for over 30 years. They had five (5) children.

Yvonne left to mourn her beloved seven (7) daughters: Velda Weekes and Carolyn Weekes, Althea Porter, Deseree Samuel, Lorraine Johnson (Derrick), Pamela Samuel, and Pauline Samuel.
Her loving (5) siblings George Purcell, Cecilia Molyneux, Edmond Weekes (Jacqueline), Anthony Weekes, and Benjamin Weekes (Catherine).

With special memories Yvonne W. Samuel leaves behind her fifteen (15) beloved Grandchildren: Tyisha, Tykeia, Chanece, Kevin, Dacia, Rafael, Destiny, Jaleel, Vanessa, Malana, Gabriella, Rèona, Railyn, Tèylin and Tyla. Six (6) Great Grandchildren: Kordel, Kaedin, Nesiah, Bryanna, James and Nubian. With deep sorrow she will be joining her recently departed Great Grandson Khye.

Yvonne left to mourn a host of nieces, nephews and cousins too numerous to mention.
