Obituary

Catrice LaChelle Williams affectionately called “Scooby” “ was born on Saturday, January 17, 1987 in Boston, Massachusetts to Wendy and Anton Branch. Scooby was a courageous fighter, having fought the good fight, she finished the race, and she kept the faith, but after two years of fighting, she lost the ultimate battle and on Wednesday, June 17, 2020 Scooby peacefully entered eternal rest after suffering another stroke – the battle fought and the victory won.

Catrice attended Boston Public Schools, graduated from West Roxbury High School in 2005 and attended Byman’s for Medical Assistant graduating in 2007. Her last place of employment was Harvard College as a PCA.

Catrice loved doing her friends’ hair but didn’t comb her own unless it was a special occasion. She was full of live, had a beautiful smile, a great sense of humor and was the “life of the party”. She loved being on Facebook and “Tik Tok” with her cousin Jaz. Once you meet her, you never forgot her.

Scooby was an outstanding person with a heart of pure gold. She loved to “TurnUp” as she would say. She loved and enjoyed all types of music and good food. She loved her friends, spending time with them and doing everything she could for them. She loved her morning coffee, daily calls to her Mom to see what she
wanted her to cook for her.

Scooby cherished her Aunty Darlene because when her Mom said “NO” she knew her Aunty Darlene was gonna say ”Yes” and she had a special bond with her Dad, “Tone” and never heard him say the word “NO” to her. She was an only child and often would tell people, “I’m the baby” and “I’m number 1”.

Catrice’s survivors left to cherish wonderful times and fond memories include: her parents – Wendy and Anton Branch; grandfathers – Robert Bell and James Hopkins; devoted partner – Melo King; uncles – Alan Forrest and Herman Forrest; aunts – Dorothy Forrest, Darlene Forrest, Jackie Branch, Pamela Dykes and Evelyn Elder (Jack); godchildren - Janiyah Taylor and Ya’Kora Beasley; Special Godparents – Leroy Brown, Sonya Pratt Mobley and Jeanene Gates; Special sister -Nicole Ford; Special cousins – Jamal Forrest, Catarlos Forrest, Tamico Forrest; Godbrothers – Jeffrey Light, Darrell Williams, Marcus Robinson, Rohan Dixon, Deshawn Steele, Amir Edouard Godsisters – Keisha Pratt, Sonya Pratt Masso and Chantelle Lights – Special Grandmothers – Connie M. Carter, Betty Green, Hazel Crawford and Edna Willrich; childhood best friend—Franki and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
